The Origins of Zinc & Chrome Plating Ltd

It all began in 1955, when John Roberts and Phil Harris founded Valley Platers Ltd (Hutt Valley) and the Electrozinc Plating Company (Wanganui) respectively. Both companies were merged some years later and have been passed through generations of their families.

In December 2010, Mark and Fiona Wilson (who also own Myriad Engineering) purchased Zinc & Chrome Limited.  There were synergies between Zinc and Chrome and Myriad Engineering and the purchase ensured zinc and chrome plating services were not lost to the Wellington region.

The business has now been purchased by Peter and Barbara Whittington , who also own Capital Circuits Limited (CCL). The zinc and chrome plating business is a great fit with the existing plating services, principally silver and tin, offered by CCL. The experience and expertise of the personnel within CCL (over 20 years experience) will ensure the quality and service offered by Zinc & Chrome will continue to be enhanced.

We understand the importance for the Wellington area to have a plating service. We look forward to looking after you as a customer in the very near future.
