The Origins of Zinc and Chrome Limited
Began in 1955 when John Roberts and Phil Harris worked together and then founded Valley Platers Ltd (Hutt Valley) and the Electrozinc Plating Company (Wanganui) respectively.
Both Companies have been passed through generations of their families who remain within the group today.
In 1991 John Tate purchased Electrozinc and later in 2008 purchased Valley Platers when Phil Harris’s son, Wade purchased 50% of both Companies. This has formed a formidable partnership between John and Wade which has instigated a total turnaround of the business to where it is today.
